Paseo Pottery Classes & Gallery
Paseo Pottery is located in a large studio/gallery in the Meow Wolf neighborhood. The studio is run by a team of volunteers excited to share their love for clay. We hold daily pottery experiences for travelers, long-term classes and workshops for locals, and monthly events. We pride ourselves on being a fun, inclusive workspace and welcome people from all populations in Santa Fe’s diverse community. Mention Santa Fe Selection when you call or visit.
Come visit us! Our gallery is open for shopping seven days a week, and there’s always something happening in the studio from long term classes to workshops, & 2-hour pottery "experiences" for travelers, and First Friday Pottery Throw Downs! Sign up on our website and come play in the mud with local Santa Fe artists!
Wheel-Throwing Class: $115/person includes a two-hour class complete with all materials.
Each student creates their own unique expression of art. At the end of the experience, students present their masterpieces to the rest of the class, then in the spirit of embracing the ephemeral nature of art and of humanity, students ceremoniously recycle their pieces, kneading them back into the original clay form.
Combo Experience Class: $130/person includes a two-hour class complete with all materials. (typically offered twice a month- book in advance!)
In this one-time, two-hour class, students will be introduced to fundamental techniques for working with clay both by hand and on the pottery wheel. Participants will spend the first hour on the wheel, and then have the option of hand-building with air-dry clay for the second hour. Hand-built pieces may be taken home at the conclusion of the class.
PRIVATE PARTY: Private Parties are great for special occasions, corporate team building, bachelorette parties, private celebrations, family gatherings, and anyone looking for a unique Santa Fe experience! Private parties last 2-3 hours and can focus on wheel-throwing, hand-building, sculpture, painting pottery, or raku firing. We welcome large groups and can accommodate up to 100 people. Cost: ($900 minimum)
Classes are taught by volunteers who are artists in ceramics and pottery, including Angela Smith Kirkman, a ceramic artist with over thirty years experience. Our volunteer teachers are excited to be sharing their pottery passion with fellow mud-lovers.
More New Classes are being scheduled all the time, so check out the weblink above for all class info and schedules and to book your pottery experience!
Why We Love It
“The kind of experience that defines a trip. This is why people come to Santa Fe — and why they keep coming back.”
Insider Tip
Check the seasonal schedule before you go — hours and availability can vary. Weekday visits are typically less crowded.
