Rio Grande Sky Fiesta

WHEN: October 24-25, 2026 The Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area (NRGNHA) presents the 2nd Annual Río Grande Sky Fiesta at Los Luceros Historic Site! Festivities kick off with the breathtaking sight of hot air balloons launching over the Río Grande, then continue with a full day of festive fun for all ages. Kids will love the Trick-or-Treat Through Historic Los Luceros, featuring candy stations, lowrider trunk-or-treat displays, and a hands-on sky-themed stamp & coloring booklet

Explore delicious food trucks, artisan vendors, and cultural exhibits nestled among the trees and historic adobe buildings. As the sun sets, don’t miss the magical Balloon Glow, lighting up the valley with color and community. Then rise early again on Sunday, October 26, for a second morning of balloon ascensions and fall beauty along the river. Tickets are just $12 Saturday and $10 Sunday morning — and children 12 & under are free. Parking and shuttle info available online.

Watch the sky come alive as dozens of colorful hot air balloons rise over the Río Grande at dawn, followed by a spectacular Balloon Glow on Saturday night. This year’s fiesta includes the return of the beloved Zozobra balloon and features two launch windows each morning at 6:45 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. — weather permitting. Admission includes access to the historic Los Luceros site, home to vibrant culture, local vendors, and breathtaking views.
