Located an easy 55 minutes' drive from Santa Fe, and fun for the whole family. The Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum showcases a vast collection of balloons, art work, aerial artifacts, and more. Our exhibits show the history of ballooning and highlight the science that has thrilled human imagination for more than a century. Take a trip and discover Albuquerque's renowned air and space museum today!

Since the first balloon flights in 1783, there have been many feats recorded in the story of Balloon flight. Hot air and gas balloons have been used for adventure, scientific experiments, the arts, warfare, espionage, and the exploration of space.

The exhibits at the Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum help the visitor see and understand how all this happened. Emphasis is on the development of exhibits that combine historic artifacts with modern multi-media technology to create a sense of excitement as well as an educational environment.

Enjoy a fun exploration of our exhibits and learn everything about balloons from 1783 to the present, including the science of how and why balloons fly, how they are controlled, the instruments involved, the world record parachute jump of Joe Kittinger, special shaped balloons, the implementation of balloons during World War I and II, aeronauts and so much more.

Admission: Adults -$6.00 ($1 discount with valid NM or Military ID), Seniors 65+ -$4.00. Children 6-17-$3. Children 3 and under-Free

FREE DAYS: Sundays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the first Friday of every month, all day (not including Balloon Fiesta)
